Position Type: Regular Full-Time Exempt

Location Requirement: This is a full-time, onsite position based in Temecula, California. The role involves direct supervision of a team, as well as regular cross-functional coordination and collaboration. To support effective team leadership and in-person engagement with other departments, candidates must be able to reasonably commute to Temecula Monday through Friday. Candidates that meet with minimum essential functions of the role that reside outside the local area must submit a separate statement outlining their intent and plan to meet this requirement.

Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Role Description

The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is responsible for the organization, execution and control of all purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging supplies, equipment, and other goods and services required for the manufacturing of pet supplements. This includes supporting and executing the development of purchasing strategies, managing a team of buyers, negotiating contracts with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and optimizing purchasing processes for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and Execute Purchasing Strategy: Align purchasing initiatives with business goals by identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.

Manage Supplier Relationships: Source, assess, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other performance metrics. Lead contract negotiations and maintain ongoing partnerships.

Deliver Strategic KPIs: Achieve key metrics including Perfect Order Rate, Inventory Days of Supply, Inventory Turnover, and Forecast Accuracy.

Oversee Purchase Order Processing: Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices to support uninterrupted operations.

Optimize Inventory Management: Collaborate cross-functionally to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels, reducing stockouts and maximizing working capital.

Drive Cost Efficiency: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through pricing negotiations, supplier consolidation, and improved procurement practices.

Ensure Quality Assurance: Partner with quality control to verify that incoming materials meet established standards; resolve supplier quality issues promptly.

Coordinate Supply Chain and Logistics: Work with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation of goods.

Lead Purchasing Team: Manage and develop a high-performing team of buyers; conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a collaborative culture.

Administer Purchasing Budget: Develop and control the annual procurement budget; monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and implement savings strategies.

Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all procurement-related regulations, including ethical sourcing and industry-specific compliance standards.

Conduct Market Analysis: Monitor supplier markets and industry trends to support informed purchasing decisions and strategic sourcing. Requirements

EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES TRAINING

We value diverse qualifications and recognize that relevant experience and certifications can sometimes substitute for formal education; therefore, equivalent combinations of education, experience, and certifications will be considered.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field

5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CPP, CPM, CPSM, CSCP) KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES

Leadership & Management: Proven experience leading and managing a purchasing team.

Purchasing Expertise: Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, contract negotiation, supplier management, and international sourcing.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems and purchasing software.

Core Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.

Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, sound judgment, positive attitude, and exceptional teamwork skills. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). COMPUTER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Annual Base Salary Range: The base salary range for this position is $120k - $130k BENEFITS
