SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator for a homeless shelter in Port Jefferson Station. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for general program oversight, including staff hiring, training, scheduling and management, and reporting and tracking program milestones and outcomes. The Program Coordinator will assist with the implementation of program policies and procedures, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and ensure quality service to clients. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of case management and supportive services.

The Program Coordinator will oversee staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and conducting supervisions and performance appraisals.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, and foster teamwork by working cooperatively to set goals, resolve problems, and make effective decisions.
Oversee performance indicators and program evaluation tools to ensure effective program outcomes. Provide time-sensitive program reports.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for staff and clients.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations to resolve the problem.
The Program Coordinator will ensure all maintenance requests are submitted and followed up on within a timely manner.
Be the primary liaison for all vendors that visit the site.
Collect and submit an accurate billing statement to the county each month.
Order equipment and supplies.
Allocate for budgetary spending.
The Program Coordinator will document progress notes regarding all client meetings. Review client files to ensure accuracy.
Review and sign off on unite checks.
Ensure proper care and oversite to Agency vehicles.
Complete SOAR to accurately report the shelter's attendance by morning deadline when backing up Case Manager.
Assist Case Manager with complex support services.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field required. A Master's degree is preferred.
At least 4 years of experience with the homeless population is required. Knowledge of the Suffolk County Department of Social Services is preferred.
At least 1 year of prior management experience is required.
Computer proficiency, including MS Office, is required.
Excellent organizational, problem solving and time-management skills required.
Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to carry in supplies for the shelter. Must be able to help move clients in and do some heavy lifting. Must be able to go up and down a steep staircase.
