About the Position

The Database Analyst will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing our databases and data stores to ensure the integrity, accessibility, security, and performance of our data systems. This role involves working closely with various practice areas to provide actionable insights, improve data processes, and support business decision-making.

The Database Analyst reports to the Lead Research Consultant of the Research and People Analytics Practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The database analyst will deliver a broad range of services to People Results clients. The following descriptions of services are examples of the work the database analyst may be asked to perform, but additional types of services may also be required.

Design, build, and maintain databases and data systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and reports.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.

Collaborate with team members to identify data needs and support reporting and analytics efforts.

Monitor database performance and implement improvements where needed.

Develop documentation for database systems, procedures, and best practices.

Assist in data migration, integration, and backup processes.

Support the company’s business intelligence and reporting needs.Requirements:

Proven experience as a Database Analyst or similar role.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proficient in SQL/T-SQL and relational database management systems.

Competent in working with very large datasets, with an emphasis on optimizing performance, particularly with tree-shaped/hierarchical data and completely unstructured data.

Familiarity with data governance, security practices, and compliance requirements.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Comfortable working in a small, dynamic team environment.

Knowledge of cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data processing.

Understanding of basic front-end or back-end development is a plus.

Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Experience with SSIS / SSRS.Additional Requirements

Pay: The pay range for this position is $72,000-$82,000. People Results takes into consideration a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, qualifications, education and other business and organizational needs.
