Job Overview This role provides pastoral care support at Good Samaritan Hospital, Bethesda North Hospital, and Hospice of Cincinnati, offering emotional and spiritual guidance to patients, families, and staff.

Location: Bethesda North Hospital at 10500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 Schedule & Availability: This position requires flexibility in scheduling including: * Available to cover vacation time as needed.

* On-call commitment per department schedule, with the ability to be onsite within one hour when called.

Minimum Requirements * Education • High School Diploma or GED (Required) * Clinical & Professional Requirements • 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) - Must be completed within 6 months of hire date - 2 units preferred • Ordination or Faith Group Endorsement - Must be obtained from recognized religious organization - Required within 180 days of hire date Note: These requirements are essential for continuation of employment.

Candidates must demonstrate ability to complete these requirements within specified timeframes.

Essential Job Responsibilities * Professional Development & Certification • Certified Chaplains: - Maintain required certification standards - Complete continuing education requirements • Chaplain Associates: - Complete 20 hours of annual pastoral education - Document all educational activities * Clinical Documentation • Maintain accurate EPIC records including: - Patient religious preferences - Advance directives - Spiritual care interventions - Patient encounters - Care coordination notes * Patient Care & Spiritual Support • Provide comprehensive spiritual care services: - Offer emotional and spiritual guidance - Conduct prayers when requested - Practice active listening - Connect patients with spiritual resources - Support diverse religious needs * Clinical Team Integration • Participate in assigned hospital units through: - Regular patient care rounds - Team education sessions - Interdisciplinary meetings - Scheduled patient visits - Care plan development * Team Collaboration & Coverage • Support pastoral care department operations: - Provide vacation/absence coverage - Participate in on-call rotation - Attend team meetings - Contribute to departmental goals - Demonstrate schedule flexibility * Professional Conduct • Maintain positive team relationships • Demonstrate proactive approach to duties • Support interdisciplinary collaboration • Exhibit pastoral presence • Adapt to changing healthcare environment Working Conditions: * Physical Demands: Occasional climbing, kneeling, lifting (both under and over 50 lbs.), pulling, pushing, and stooping.

* Sensory Requirements: Frequent use of hearing (conversation and other sounds), talking, and visual acuity (near and far). * Activity Levels: Frequently sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and using hands.

* Additional Requirements: Ability to maintain flexibility in handling physical tasks and adherence to occupational safety standards.
