Job Title: Construction Operations Manager
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Relocation assistance available)
Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000, commensurate with experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of labor, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements, deliver high-quality outcomes, and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
Oversee project execution post-handoff from project management, including:
Labor and equipment scheduling
Resolving scheduling conflicts
Managing equipment fleet, tools, and maintenance shop
Maintaining inventory and generating purchase orders
Coordinating material shipments
Managing non-project labor and productivity
Overseeing yard projects and maintaining cleanliness
Ensuring timely and accurate payroll timecard submissions
Supervise field staff including superintendents, foremen, and laborers
Enforce company policies and safety standards
Conduct and document quarterly and annual inventory assessments
Ensure customer satisfaction during and after project execution
Maintain high standards for product installation and project outcomes
Approve foreman expenditures and expense reports
Complete billing and administrative tasks promptly
Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders
Understand and apply Department of Transportation specifications
Qualifications of the Operations Manager:
Bachelor's degree (4 years) or associate degree (2 years) in a construction-related field
Minimum of 5 years of field experience
Basic understanding of economics, accounting, engineering, construction techniques, sales, customer service, and HR
Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
Effective communication and presentation abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and integrated accounting software
