Job Title\: Cassandra DBA

Location\: Remote, USA

Travel\:25%

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage on-prem Cassandra clusters in production environments.

• Optimize Cassandra performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Collaborate with application teams to integrate / remediate Cassandra into business-critical systems.

• Support and implement customer in migrating workloads to AWS Keyspaces and DynamoDB.

• Automate engineering and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting, and configuration management tools.

• Build and maintain observability tooling for monitoring system health and performance.

• Respond to incidents and outages with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term remediation.

• Ensure data security, compliance, and adherence to internal and external standards.

Required Skills:

• Overall 8+ yrs in platform engineering experience

• 5+ on AWS Cloud platform/Infrastructure engineering

• 3+ years of experience managing Cassandra environments.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and NoSQL platforms.

• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., newrelic, splunk, Cloudwatch, Grafana, etc.).

• Proficiency in Linux systems administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef).

• Familiarity with AWS services, especially Keyspaces and DynamoDB.

• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Desired Skills:

Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid cloud environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Knowledge of security best practices in data infrastructure.

• Contributions to open-source Cassandra projects or community involvement.
