Job Description

We are looking for an interim Controller to join a Springfield, MA area Credit Union. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial operations and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting, internal controls, and compliance to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Perform account reconciliations to maintain integrity within general ledger accounts.

• Oversee internal control processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.

• Manage internal and external reporting requirements, adhering to organizational and regulatory guidelines.

• Conduct profitability analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning.

• Handle reporting related to Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) in alignment with industry standards.

• Collaborate with auditing teams to support financial reviews and ensure adherence to FASB guidelines.

• Monitor banking compliance and ensure alignment with applicable laws and regulations.

• Provide insights into financial operations to enhance efficiency and long-term profitability.

• Proven experience in auditing and financial reporting within a corporate setting.

• Strong knowledge of internal controls and compliance practices.

• Familiarity with banking regulations and standards.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and general ledger management.

• Comprehensive understanding of FASB guidelines and their application.

• Ability to analyze profitability and interpret financial data effectively.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with Prologue preferred
