Job Description:

This position will support the Wyandotte County Health Equity Task Force (HETF) by providing strategic oversight and promoting community engagement to advance health equity in Wyandotte County, Kansas. The HETF was formed in April 2020 during the early stages of the pandemic in response to the racial and ethnic disparities related to COVID-19. The HETF developed a strong network of community partners that responded to the COVID crisis and are now building on its success to address other health disparities. The HETF Program Coordinator will work with the Task Force to identify and execute strategies to improve the health of historically under-resourced communities that are disproportionately impacted by poor health outcomes. This position will support the HETF efforts to carry out this work over the next 12 months. The HETF Coordinator will collaborate on grant projects, prepare and disseminate information, facilitate monthly meetings, develop agreements, coordinate mobile/pop-up clinics, and establish methods to evaluate and report on the Task Force's activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in social work, public health or a related field and two years of related; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. A master's degree in public health or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of public health principles and concepts; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to deal with diverse constituencies; experience working with community groups and organizations. Experience with grant writing and development is preferred. This is a grant-funded position with a term of 12 months. The Program Coordinator will work with the Community Health Manager to secure continuation funding for the initiative.

Salary Range:

$26.74-$30.90/hr.
