We are looking for SWITCHBOARD SUPERVISORS for a full-time position supporting the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX, overseeing the 24/7 operations of a high-volume communications center within a medical facility. This role ensures the smooth and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing calls through eight NEAX 2400 electronic telephone attendant consoles.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of a 24/7/365 telephone switchboard serving a medical facility.
Operate and monitor NEAX 2400 electronic attendant consoles to manage high call volumes.
Provide oversight and support for additional communication systems, including:Fax machines, Audio and radio systems, Digital paging systems
Record, report, and escalate telephone and communications equipment trouble calls as needed.
Ensure proper coverage and continuity of service across all shifts.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a telephone operator, with at least 1 year involving complex call handling, such as placing specialized calls through various circuits or serving as an information operator within a large, multi-division organization.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a call center or communications environment, including but not limited to responsibilities such as: Organizing and directing staff, assigning and monitoring workloads, maintaining discipline and performance standards, developing work methods and shift schedules to meet peak service demands
Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly, follow verbal and written instructions, and use proper grammar and punctuation.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment requiring sound judgment and service-focused professionalism.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
$21,00 to $24.00 an hour, commensurate to experience and skill set.
