Red Peak Technical Services, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for a Technical Writer II in Havelock, NC. This position will work within the government site onboard FRCE Cherry Point NC supporting H-1 FST for H-1 FMS tech data and S1000D IETMs. This position will be provided a government NMCI asset and may have the ability to telework dependent on government TOCOR approval.

Prepare Technical Manual Evaluation Record (TMER) for all technical manual data presented for United States Government (USG) verification.

Record each comment using USG-provided scanning and conversion of files to digital format to include small publication revisions/change, Rapid Action Change (RACs), and Pick-up Revisions.

Front matter shall be updated as required. Source data shall be inventoried, processed and archived along with checklists and other documents used for record keeping purposes.

Perform Quality Assurance (QA) review of technical manual technical data for compliance to military specifications and standards.

Perform QA review for consistency, usability, and accuracy of data.

Authoring xml files to include creating and editing new and existing Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) Data Modules (DMs).

Create illustrations from source data and edit existing graphics and wiring diagrams to. cgm/.svg format.

Develop scripts and run reports as needed. Perform review, assignment of tracking numbers, distribution, and ata base control of Technical Manuals Source Discrepancy Report (TMSDRs).

Perform cancellation, re-issue, and redistribution actions.

Maintain database integrity and master data repository.

Prepare, as needed, Pub PDF conversion, linking and bookmarking according to NAVAL Air Technical and Engineering Command (NATEC) PDF Conversion Guidelines.

Modifying, developing and releasing of technical data items such as Interim Rapid Action Changes (IRACs), Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDRs) and TMSDRs.

IRACs shall be linked and bookmarked to manuals for posting on the NATEC website per Technical Manual Conversion Guidelines.

TPDRs shall utilize delivery schedules with internal processes by the FST.

Manage and archive dated data files.

Assist with maintaining and updating publication management files and digital master data packages.

Support, with processes, guidelines, instructions, and guidance, provided by the government to utilize products/tools including but not limited to:

MS Office Word/Excel/Access

EAGLE Editor

PTC Arbor text

VGMT software

Merlin, NSIV

Corel Designer

PTO IsoDraw

Perl

AutoCAD

Notepad++

Photo Editor

Adobe Acrobat

And basic website and internet navigation.

Knowledge of TM styles and formatting for work package and conventional style TMs and experience with NAVAIR guidelines and specifications including but not limited to:

Payrate: $36.21 Hourly

Requirements

High School diploma or GED

Requires a minimum of two (2) years related work experience providing technical writing and documentation support to technical and management level personnel.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to work 40 hours per week on a consistent basis

Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to obtain a CAC card

Must have experience in:

Documenting, planning, support and writing for project, presentation, and proposal related work, usually of a highly technical content.

Supporting the engineering, management, and administrative staff in organizing, assembling, and writing technical proposals, presentations, and related materials,

Providing support in one or more commercially available word processing and/or desktop publishing software programs.

Knowledge and experience with the following are preferred:

Technical publication and/or IETM experience in particular to NAVAIR, S1000D, MIL-STD-3001, MIL-DTL-81927, and/or MIL-STD-38784.

Military and/or technical publication experience using technical publications and/or IETMs

CTPL experience

Writing, editing, or quality assurance of technical documentation experience using EAGLE CSDB, PTC Arbor text, MS Word, Excel, and Access, Notepad++, Perl, VGMT software, Merlin, NSIV, Corel Designer, PTC IsoDraw, and PaintShop Pro

Strong attention to detail
