Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.
An opportunity exists for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a K-12 educational setting located in Plainfield, IL. This contract position is integral in fostering an inclusive learning environment by facilitating effective munication for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC).
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students.
Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with educators and staff.
Knowledge of deaf culture and educational practices.

Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various subjects.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the munication needs of students.
Prepare for interpreting assignments by reviewing lesson plans and materials.
