Position Overview: IMC Companies is seeking a skilled and driven IT Manager to lead the development, implementation, and support of automated data integration systems between IMC and our third party customers and vendors. This position will play a critical role in ensuring seamless data exchange through EDI X.12 standards and direct API integrations, optimizing supply chain operations, and enhancing business partner relationships.

As part of the leadership team, the IT Manager runs our operational services, supports our third party integrations, implements strategic integration plans, monitors and contributes to developing the departmental strategy, and recruits, develops and supervises IT staff specializing in integration technologies.

Essential Job Functions

Ensure standardized operating procedures (SOPs) are executed at the highest level of quality for all customer and vendor integration processes

Evaluate the established key performance indicators (KPIs) for integration performance, data accuracy, and system reliability to inform key business decisions and achieve department goals

Develop personal growth opportunities among integration team members, focusing on EDI, API development, and data mapping expertise

Coach and counsel employees, and address performance gaps in integration development and maintenance

Develop, deliver, and maintain EDI X.12 and API integration technologies to achieve business strategies as defined by senior management

Identify integration bottlenecks and evaluate data flow trends in collaboration with senior management to develop technology and business strategies

Negotiate complex integration requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including external customer and vendor partners

Align staff to IMC reference architecture and Agile development processes for integration projects

Ensure all integration deliverables and documentation comply with IMC global development processes and industry EDI standards

Complete integration projects by coordinating resources, dependencies, and timelines with customer service, logistics, and vendor management departments

Plan, monitor, and appraise integration project results and ongoing system performance

Oversee the communication and maintenance of security protocols for data exchange and disaster recovery systems for integration platforms

Preserve data integrity by implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security, and control structures for all integration touchpoints

Delight customers and vendors by maintaining quality service through establishing and enforcing integration standards including secure data transmission, EDI compliance, API versioning, error handling, and monitoring protocols

Develop and deliver effective communications regarding integration capabilities and requirements to peer teams, customers, vendors, and IT executives

Maintain professional and technical knowledge of EDI standards, API technologies, and integration best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing integration process improvements and automation opportunities

Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold IMC core values, especially regarding data privacy and security

Create a safe and positive working environment where employees feel included, recognized, and heard

Job Requirements

5+ years of qualifying work experience in information technology with specific focus on system integrations, EDI, or API development

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business, or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience (advanced degree preferred)

Demonstrated leadership experience in managing integration teams and projects

Proven track record of organizing and leading complex integration projects across multiple business functions and external partners

Extensive experience with EDI X.12 standards, API development, and data integration technologies

Expert knowledge of integration architectures, data mapping, and transformation processes

Working knowledge of supply chain software, transportation management systems, and logistics workflows

Strong understanding of customer and vendor data exchange requirements in transportation and logistics industries

Working knowledge of technical and architecture concepts such as message/event-oriented architectures, data modeling, workflow management, real-time streaming, and middleware platforms

Experience with integration platforms, ETL tools, and data synchronization technologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels, including experience presenting integration solutions to executive-level business partners, customers, and vendors

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex integration issues

Positive attitude and self-motivated

Availability to travel when needed for customer and vendor integration implementations

Other Skills/Abilities

Strong understanding of and experiences with Business Agility, Agile/Scrum, and other SDLC development processes with the ability to mentor, build consensus and lead others in these areas

Experience with EDI translation software, API gateways, and integration monitoring tools

Familiarity with marine drayage or intermodal transportation is a plus
