Job Overview:
HealthPath Solutions, a medical/dental billing company is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our healthcare team in Temple Terrace, Florida, as a combined Medical Biller/Coder & Client Recruiter/Onboarding Specialist. This dual-role position involves managing accurate billing and coding processes while actively recruiting new clients and ensuring smooth onboarding for new healthcare providers and practices. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical billing and coding procedures, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to client engagement and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Biller/Coder Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare, Medicaid).
- Track and follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain and update patient billing records in the practice management system.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Reconcile accounts and generate billing reports for practice management and clients.
- Stay current with coding updates, insurance regulations, and billing best practices.
Client Recruiter/Onboarding Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect potential healthcare providers, clinics, and practices for partnership opportunities.
- Conduct outreach via calls, emails, and networking to develop new client relationships.
- Present our billing and coding services to prospective clients, explaining benefits and solutions.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding processes for new clients, including contract signing, data collection, and system setup.
- Provide training and support to new clients on billing procedures, reporting tools, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the onboarding phase, ensuring a seamless transition.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to foster strong relationships and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to customize onboarding plans and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, insurance processes, and coding standards.
- Previous experience in client acquisition, sales, or business development within healthcare is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., MedOffice, Kareo, NextGen) and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and compliance standards.
