We currently have an opening for a Network Analyst II

The position is designated Statutory Exempt and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act

This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency’s remote work program but does require weekly onsite work

In this role as a Network Analyst II, the individual is responsible for implementing and maintaining solutions that monitor and alert for NCDIT-managed infrastructure devices, as well as the databases and applications they support. Additionally, this role will utilize ServiceNow’s Event Management capabilities to reduce the mean time to respond to and resolve issues, which will lead to improved system availability and customer satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for performing fault isolation and event management, measuring network, system and application performance, identifying trends to forecast potential service impacts, and ensuring reliability while meeting all Service Level Commitments.

Duties include, but are not limited, to:

Implement enterprise-level monitoring solutions that will align processes with NCDIT enterprise services for customers

Interact with internal and external customers to gather requirements, design, and implement custom monitoring solutions

Assist customers with understanding ServiceNow event management auto-generated events and troubleshoot issues that arise

Assist with developing solutions in ServiceNow to provide operations teams and customers with the status of their services from a high-level summary view to the state of each component

Collaborate and assist teams with ensuring the NCDIT asset database and CMDB are up-to-date and mature by leveraging the discovery process and service mapping.

Provide system administration on the systems and tools used to deliver the Enterprise Monitoring and Control service

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

Experience in network and/or systems management, particularly with large-scale networks

Experience in monitoring network and/or system health, particularly with large-scale networks

Experience managing performance and/or stability of systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or Solaris

Experience with network and/or application protocols such as Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), and Domain Name System (DNS)The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

Experience creating documentation and writing reports

Experience presenting and communicating with various levels of personnel verbally and in writing

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

OR

Associate degree in computer science, an IT related field, or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in networking or related area

OR

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five years of experience in networking or related area; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

HYBRID/FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES:
