FUNCTION:
Using the company’s strategic direction and goals, extract, analyze, and organize financial and operational data from the information systems to provide transparency and insight into GTC’s operations. Provide timely analysis of GTC’s performance to financial goals and recommend key areas for improvement.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
· Drives understanding and adherence to financial plans.
· Works to continually improve GTC’s budget and forecast process.
· Provides key insights into financial data and opportunities for improvement.
· Improves speed and accuracy of month end close via knowledge of current projects.
· Develops standardized reports and analytical tools that can be used across programs and facilities.
· Helps the company maximize its return on capital investments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Works with Operations, Sales, Program Management and other departments to drive performance to financial plans; understands variances to plans and implements actions to improve financial results.
· Works with Program/Project Managers to drive optimal program profitability and ensure program Estimated Costs to Complete are accurate.
· Develop and report financial metrics and KPI’s.
· Leads preparation of the annual budget and forecast updates.
· Prepares capital project analysis, including ROI, NPV and payback period.
· Maintains Work in Process (WIP) workbooks, reviews estimates to complete and computes month WIP change.
· Assists VP, Project Management with pricing proposals, customer audits and rate analysis.
· Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business analytics or related degree is required.
· The individual must have a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, processes, business system applications and underlying technologies to support the above areas.
· High level of competence in Excel and other MS Office applications.
· Ability to use a variety of data analytical tools.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILL
· Five years’ FP&A experience in a defense manufacturing entity.
· Percentage of completion accounting experience.
· Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment.
· Excellent problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present information to a variety of groups.
· Flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple assignments at once.
· Working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems.
· Working knowledge of FARs and DFARs.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB
· Ability to work standard office hours at a computer workstation.
· Occasional travel may be required.
· Position involves extended periods of computer-based work.
· Exposure to ambient noise from machinery and equipment operations.
· Exposure to dust, fumes and varying temperatures while on the production floors.
· Requirement to wear appropriate PPE such as hearing protection and safety glasses while on the production floors.
· Compliance with all facility safety requirements and protocols.
