The Route Supervisor plays a critical leadership role within our operations team. This position oversees drivers and helpers to ensure safe, efficient, and timely route completion across the Central Valley. As the key link between management and field staff, the Route Supervisor ensures compliance with safety standards, optimizes routes, and supports a high-performing team environment.Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision: Lead and support drivers and helpers to ensure daily routes are completed safely and on time.

Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety policies, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure adherence to DOT regulations.

Training & Onboarding: Deliver driver training and orientation and perform road tests for new hires.

Route Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Performance Management: Approve timecards, participate in performance reviews, and support disciplinary actions and coaching.

Operational Support: Maintain clear communication with drivers throughout the day and provide backup driving support when needed.

Customer Service: Respond to service issues or complaints promptly and professionally.

Project Collaboration: Assist with special initiatives such as community cleanups, parades, and events.Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: 3+ years of route delivery experience; supervisory experience preferred.

License: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Knowledge of DOT regulations

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ADP systemsPreferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Industry Experience: Supervisory experience in the solid waste or transportation sectorPhysical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Capability to lift, bend, and move briskly as needed

Regular use of hands and arms for handling equipment and communicationCompensation & Benefits
