About the Environmental Project Leader Role
This position entails planning and directing all onsite activities at client locations related to the safe storage, transportation, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. You will manage onsite personnel and serve as the vital liaison between clients and vendors, ensuring adherence to contract management and compliance with regulations. Maintain our high standards for safety and environmental integrity.
Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, you will need to:
Coordinate logistics for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including profiling, scheduling, manifesting, and physically loading bulk and drum loads.
Consult with clients to identify, design, and implement cost-saving solutions and proposals.
Ensure compliance with client and government regulations by conducting necessary inspections and reporting, resolving issues promptly.
Administer financial responsibilities, including invoicing, reporting, and contract management with clients and vendors.
Foster a culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are adequately trained and compliant with regulations.
Occasionally perform labor-intensive activities such as drum collection and bulking.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role includes management of supervisory employees, but not direct supervision of operational staff.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should meet the following criteria:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or a related field; or a High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.
Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience in addition to the education requirement.
Certifications and Licenses
You must possess or be able to obtain the following:
Experience with RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (strongly preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certification (strongly preferred, or ability to obtain after hire).
A valid driver's license.
Pre-assignment drug/alcohol testing may be required based on client contracts.
