Lean and Continuous Improvement Intern – (Collegiate Student by Semester)
Daily Responsibilities
Identify opportunities / initiatives to track to completion for improved efficiencies in all areas of manufacturing CNC milling, lathe, grinding, finishing, shipping, and coatings
Contribute to established larger company wide projects to drive improvements
Spend time engaging with employees on shop floor for opportunity and improvement ideas
Calculate Return on Investment and/or Project savings calculations for finance buy in
Openly communicate lessons learned, information, and best practices with appropriate teams for read across all facilities
Conduct After Action Reviews for lessons learned,
Requirements:
Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies Value Stream Maps
Problem Solving Methods
Project Charters and Project Delivery Schedules
Maintaining RAIL (Rolling Action Item List)
Job Specifications
In pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering (all) or Manufacturing disciplines
Analytical skills, problem solving, conflict resolution
Computer skills, manufacturing software, MS office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills amongst all levels of the organization
Attention to detail, strong follow up skills
Be safe. follow all procedures and best practices
Sense of urgency, initiative
