Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor ensures our shop and field operations run smoothly and efficiently every day. This role involves overseeing people, equipment, and processes to guarantee top-notch quality and adherence to all safety rules. You'll be a key link between technicians and management, helping to boost performance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead & Manage Workflow:

Oversee and assess daily operations, equipment performance, and shop personnel.

Manage how tasks are given to individual technicians and keep the overall service area flowing smoothly, ensuring the team is well-supported and used effectively.

Hand out work orders to technicians and check that work is done correctly by reviewing paperwork and matching it with physical parts.

Supervise operations, including preparing equipment, gathering data, creating logs, Quality Control (QC), and delivering products to customers.

Watch over equipment moving in the warehouse to prevent damage.

Plan & Guide Operations:

Work with the Operations Manager to set daily and weekly goals for refurbishment and assembly.

Guide employees on how things work, including processes, company rules, and expectations.

Train shop staff on systems and equipment as needed, keeping records of their progress.

Safety & Compliance:

Run weekly Safety meetings with the team and provide necessary paperwork to the right people.

Follow all safety rules, make sure safety gear is used, promote safe practices, and fix or report hazards right away.

Always ensure compliance with safety policies, EHS guidelines, and procedures.

Finish all assigned safety and job training on time.

Data, Reports & Inventory:

Make sure all data shared with management is accurate, timely, and meets high service quality standards.

Complete, review, and share all operational data, forms, and records; prepare and submit required reports to the Operations Manager.

Provide accurate and timely reports to the right people about work progress and output.

Work with the Operations Manager to pick what inventory to count each week for all product lines.

Keep records of onsite spare parts and inventory used daily, help with inventory counts and management, and send relevant records to the Supply Chain team.

Logistics & Shop Upkeep:

Handle the logistics and scheduling of outside delivery services to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, and make sure all invoices are handled, documented, and stored correctly.

Assign shop cleaning tasks to all technicians, promoting high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.

Do general cleaning duties, like keeping the work area tidy, taking out trash, sweeping floors, and removing snow (if needed).

Team & Relationships:

Create a positive and cooperative work environment to improve team performance.

Support, train, and develop teammates to continuously improve their skills.

Keep up good communication with your direct supervisor and other managers.

Maintain good working relationships with other departments and people in the company.

Act ethically and follow all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 7+ years of related work experience, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting, plus 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Must also be able to train new technicians and track their progress.

Skills: Able to manage your own time, prioritize tasks without direct orders, apply core knowledge daily, and work on projects outside of routine tasks.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including essential software and internet use.

Availability: Reliable transportation, consistent punctuality, prompt communication about scheduling conflicts, flexibility to handle changes, and ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Communication: Strong verbal, listening, written, and non-verbal communication skills, effective with all levels of the company, clients, and vendors.

Pre-Employment, Licenses, & Certifications:

Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Requires a current, valid Class C Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to safely operate a forklift and other lifting equipment.

Physical Demands

You'll need to be able to:

Body Positions: Stand and/or walk for long periods; may also sit for long periods.

Body Movements: Have a full range of body movements, including using hands to grasp, handle, feel, and manipulate equipment. Must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch.

Body Senses: Have good sight, hearing, touch, and smell. Specific vision needs include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Strength: Frequently lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment & Schedule

Work Environment: Primarily in and around the warehouse, with occasional exposure to hot and cold weather.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6 am – 6 pm. The schedule may change based on work needs and customer demands.
