deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Linux System Administrator in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to support the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program.

Duties include:

Supporting software containerization and orchestration activities

Performing security scans and related security activities

Implementing backup and restore solutions

Implementing data storage solutions

Performing scripting to support automation initiatives

Providing support and maintenance on network, hardware, and firmware infrastructure

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline

Experience Requirements:

2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree OR 0 years of experience with Master's degree.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)

Special Skills Desired:

Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc.

Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS)

Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)

Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

Experience with network administration and related infrastructure

Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades

Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
