Job Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for the execution and support of the continuous improvement initiatives in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and the elimination of waste from our processes.

Responsibilities will include:

Improve manufacturing safety, quality, delivery lead times, and cost through the elimination of waste in the value stream.

Facilitates continuous improvement events and follow up activities to eliminate waste and add value for the customer.

Develops continuous improvement plans/road maps for projects and areas of accountability.

Works collaboratively with all departments to direct, improve, and control processes and performance.

Identifies short and long term improvement opportunities.

Initiates and manages capital projects for equipment

Effective implementation of standard work, visual factory, and error proofing.

Troubleshoots manufacturing, quality and assembly issues using PDCA and DMAIC principles.

Defines, refines and improves existing processes including: Manufacturing test procedures, process development, creating of process documentation, product design for manufacturability and assembly, capacity, efficiency and floor designs, production processing, problem solving.

Qualifications:

Four year degree in engineering, manufacturing or equivalent required.

1 -2 years’ experience working in manufacturing environments with experience in a “hands on” low to medium volume assembly process improvements and practical quality improvement implementation preferred.

Six Sigma problem solving experience preferred.

Statistical process control experience preferred.
