POSITION SUMMARY

The adjunct faculty member is a part-time instructor expected to provide high-quality education and mentorship to students at The King's University (TKU). Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, this position requires expertise in English Composition I/II, effective classroom management, and alignment with the University's mission and values.

Position Specific Responsibilities

Teach [undergraduate/graduate/doctoral] courses in [subject/discipline] following catalog descriptions and defined outcomes.

Develop and manage a course syllabus that aligns with departmental and University standards.

Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes student participation.

Assess and provide constructive feedback on student performance through assignments, exams, and discussions.

Stay current with industry and subject matter developments and incorporate them into teaching.

Participate in departmental curriculum development as needed.

Communicate regularly with students and supervisor, including responding to e-mails, calls, and requests for meetings

University-Wide Responsibilities

Model and uphold TKU's core beliefs and values, adhering to the TKU Social Covenant.

Maintain accurate records and submit required reports and grades within deadlines.

Attend faculty meetings and training sessions as requested.

Comply with all policies, legal requirements, and directives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master’s degree in English (required).

Experience

Proficient skills in writing, critical thinking, and analysis of texts, arguments, and rhetoric.

Competencies:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching.

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.

Other Requirements

Criminal background verification.

Physical and mental ability to meet the demands of the position.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Maintain emotional control under stress.

Frequent interaction through speaking, listening, and written communication.
