Job Description
Machine Operator
Bema Incorporated, a recognized leading supplier to the flexible packaging industry; is looking for a Second Shift (4PM-2:30AM) Machine Operator (willing to train) to work on laminators, pouch, bag and/or slitting machines in a clean and bright working environment with a proven track record in supporting a fast-paced organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure personal compliance with all AIB, quality, company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping procedures.
Read job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as changing zipper, dies, seal bars and punches.
Completes required documentation accurately and timely.
Meets or exceeds job standards for line speeds, scrap and set-up times.
Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

Safety knowledge
Mechanical aptitude is desired
Overtime is required
Physically demanding position: long periods standing, bending, squatting, reaching and pulling. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Helps ensure all policies for the company and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) are followed.
