Role: Digitization & Collections Analyst
Rate: $25-$30 Hourly
Location: Onsite - Washington DC - 5 days a week
Our client is looking conduct basic processing, digitization, and asset management for archival audiovisual log sheets and associated papers. Working with the digital projects archivist, the contractor will generate images for archival documentation representing approximately 20,000 unique audio, video, and film assets resulting from the fieldwork and recordings. Using workflows established in recent in-house imaging projects, the contractor will perform post-digitization
processing and ingest finished files into the Digital Asset Management System.
SPECIFIC TASKS
• The Contractor shall draw upon their expertise to move the project through three main stages:
pre-digitization processing, image capture, and digital asset management. The contractor will:
o Prepare 28.75 cubic feet of materials for digitization: removing fasteners, refoldering, and imposing archival arrangement, in consultation with staff.
o Digitize materials using a professional overhead photography setup designed for two dimensional materials. Contractor will also do basic image processing (converting to TIFF, cropping, white balance adjustment, etc.)
o Rename images and embed with administrative and technical metadata. Ingest images into DAMS.
o Prepare a final report detailing
