Job Summary:

Bizzell US has an immediate opening for a skilled and dynamic Vendor Project Manager to join our team at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA. This role is crucial in managing and coordinating activities with external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of products and services for our projects. The Vendor Project Manager will work closely with procurement, engineering, and project management teams to oversee vendor performance, manage contracts, and meet project requirements.Requirements:

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between JPL and external vendors, managing day-to-day communications and fostering strong relationships.

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets for vendor-related activities.

• Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and quality standards.

• Conduct regular status meetings with vendors and internal teams to track progress and resolve issues.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with vendor activities.

• Coordinate with procurement and legal teams to develop and manage vendor contracts, including negotiation and execution.

• Ensure timely delivery of vendor deliverables, and manage any changes to scope or requirements.

• Prepare and present reports on vendor performance and project status to stakeholders and management.

• Facilitate the resolution of conflicts or disputes with vendors in a timely and effective manner.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vendor management processes and practices.

Key Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an access card to the site.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, PMI, PRINCE2).

• Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, focusing on vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the aerospace or engineering industry.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, PMI, PRINCE2).

• Experience with managing government contracting requirements, including FAR, government-furnished equipment and materials, property accountability, and work control.

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
