We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Snowflake databases, ensuring their security, performance, and reliability. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the efficient handling of data pipelines within the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Snowflake databases to ensure high availability, security, and data integrity.

• Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.

• Administer user roles, permissions, and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.

• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to support data integration and analytics initiatives.

• Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support to resolve performance or access concerns.

• Enhance database efficiency through partitioning, tuning, and other optimization techniques.

• Integrate databases with cloud platforms and other data sources to ensure seamless operations.

• Stay updated with best practices and emerging technologies in database management and optimization.• Proven experience in Snowflake database administration and optimization.

• Strong proficiency in database performance tuning, backup strategies, and recovery techniques.

• Expertise with Snowflake security features, such as role-based access control, data masking, and encryption.

• Familiarity with data integration tools, such as Talend or Informatica.

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms and their integration with databases.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Preferred certifications in Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.

• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, for process automation.
