Collections Specialist Lenexa, KS
LHH is working with a client in the Lenexa, KS area who is seeking to hire a Collections Specialist. This role is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with business clients while ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and experience in B2B collections or credit management.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage assigned accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
Contact clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on overdue payments.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in collaboration with internal teams.
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions in the system.
Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates to management on collection status.
Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off as necessary.
Support month-end closing activities and audits related to accounts receivable.
Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in B2B collections or credit and collections.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and financial systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $50,000 annually + commission
Job Type: Direct hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (fully onsite)
