JOB PURPOSE:
Contributing to a team of committed and customer-service oriented event professionals is vital to the University and the mission of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). The Operations Coordinator participates in the planning and execution of both on-and off-campus events by providing administrative assistance, day-of presence as required, and by acting as a liaison with Development and Alumni Relations and other campus partners.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
This position may work with contractors, freelancers, volunteers and interns.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Operations Coordinator supports the implementation, execution and oversight of major event planning, including regional alumni engagement events, donor events and collaborations with internal and external partners. Reporting to the Executive Director, Events Management, the Operations Coordinator works to infuse sound event planning principles, standardized procedures, and available resources to all events on behalf of the University. Teamwork and collaboration both within University Events and Protocol, with other development staff and alumni relations, campus partners, and with external vendors and partners are essential.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This role supports a busy, complex department overseeing multiple projects and high-profile events. Responsibilities include working with the AVP, Special Events and Protocol and the Executive Director, Events Management to coordinate priorities and assignments, establish clear objectives and adhere to a busy calendar with pressing deadlines.
To inform leadership, the role creates monthly performance reports and other event tracking reports as needed while continually maintaining, updating, and correcting records and guests lists in collaboration with the Development Operations team and individual gift officers, as needed.
The role serves as a trusted resource to colleagues managing diverse responsibilities and may serve as a liaison between contractors, organizers, university staff, administrators and event participants.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and a high degree of discretion. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field or three (3) years of experience in an administrative position
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Database management experience; familiarity with technology specific to event planning preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Expected Pay Range: 59,090 - 65,000
