Position Summary:

This individual will join a small, highly visible financing team responsible for arranging and executing project finance debt and construction equity. This capital is critical to the success of the business and will enable the construction of Commonwealth’s LNG export terminal. This role will be involved in financial modeling, data room and diligence management, and coordination of the overall financing process. The Lead Analyst of Finance will report to the VP, Finance. This role is considered as an integral part to successfully managing the preparations and execution of the projects financing needs.

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for creating, modifying and manipulating Excel models to inform company leadership decisions, financial advisors, sensitivity testing, and presentations to third parties. Augmenting for internal needs, fact and function testing with financial advisors, scenario running and results synthesizing.

Responsible for managing the flows of information and keeping everyone organized and adhering to schedules. These tasks include:

Internal/advisor reviews of draft documentation and reports

Due diligence flows to lenders consultants, bankers, lawyers, technical teams

Populating VDRs and checking for consistency and completeness of information

Q&A process management

Work closely with leadership, staff and advisors to summarize and present complex qualitative and financial information into materials for investors, lenders and the executive team to make decisions.

Will help review documents and models to assist in identification of commercial considerations and contribute their financial and technical acumen.

Be responsible for FP&A, including budgeting and forecasting to manage capital draws from banks and investors, and overall corporate liquidity.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the position successfully.

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or similar degree. Advanced degree preferred or Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Experience:

3 plus years of demonstrated relevant experience in investment banking or project financing. Experience in a financial institution and familiarity with the energy industry, industry themes, trends and drivers of LNG sector. Preference for some direct LNG experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Analytics and financial modeling skills

Prior experience building new models from scratch

Modeling debt, proforma projections, financial statements, and valuations in Excel

Model various equity structures including equity waterfall

Pro-user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Knowledge/Experience with set-up and maintenance of financing and/or M&A transaction processes, including:

Establish and review of virtual data rooms

Creation of debt and/or equity offering memos

Investment / credit memos etc.

Experience reviewing and commenting on energy and financing related documentation, including:

Loan documentation, partnership agreements, sale and purchase agreements, commodity purchase agreements (e.g. power, LNG etc.), equity contribution agreements, etc.

Ability to synthesize complex information into succinct, comprehensive, and accurate materials for various audiences.

Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and proactively manage workload by seeking additional support as needed.

Resourceful self-starter with excellent judgement.

Presentable to external investors, bankers, and executive leadership with the ability to speak extemporaneously about familiar topics.

Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve issues and develop viable solutions.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a propensity for attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time effective manner with minimal supervision.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to stakeholders at various levels within and external to the organization.

Use of collaborative approach and the flexibility to work with broad range of cultures, personalities, and work styles.
