About the Opportunity:
Swisher is offering a DoD SkillBridge opportunity that offers transitioning service members a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes. As a Technical Support Engineer Trainee, you will work alongside experienced professionals, supporting equipment installation, maintenance, and efficiency improvements across various product lines. This role is ideal for those with a mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing maintenance background.
Primary Purpose:
This Trainee position assists in the coordination of the design, modification, installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of all product making and finishing machinery and processes by all brand verticals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to oversee and support machine repair activities.
• Participate in the troubleshooting of machines.
• Support the supervision and training of personnel.
• Gain hands-on experience advising on component updates and revisions in coordination with the CSP team.
• Assist in performing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
• Contribute to the development and execution of machine installation and preventative maintenance plans.
• Help assess machine efficiencies and maintain records.
Requirements:
• Must be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any US Armed Forces branch
• Upon separation, you will receive an Honorable Discharge
• Command (O-4 above) approval for participation in SkillBridge
• 7 to 10 years of manufacturing and packaging machine experience or relevant military experience
• Background in machine design, installation, repair, and PLC knowledge.
• Supervisory skills
• Proficient in AUTOCAD
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
Skills and Qualifications:
• Hands on experience with project design, construction, and testing a plus.
Physical Requirements:
May be sitting and/or using computers for extended periods of time. Also standing and working around and on equipment
