Gaithersburg Architectural Millwork is a leading manufacturer of high-end architectural millwork and casework for commercial, institutional, and specialty projects. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, precision, and delivering exceptional results. We are currently seeking a skilled Millwork Drafter to join our engineering team.
Position Overview:
As a Millwork Drafter, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate and detailed shop drawings based on architectural plans, field dimensions, and internal specifications. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure drawings align with fabrication and installation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed shop drawings using Inventory, AutoCAD (or Revit/Cabinet Vision, if applicable).
Interpret architectural drawings and specifications related to custom millwork and casework.
Coordinate with project managers and shop personnel to resolve design or construction issues.
Incorporate field dimensions and client changes into revised drawings.
Ensure drawings comply with AWI standards and project requirements.
Maintain drawing documentation and revision logs throughout the project lifecycle.
Process point cloud data from the field.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in millwork or architectural drafting.
Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Inventor, Cabinet Vision or similar drafting software is a plus.
Strong understanding of millwork construction, joinery methods, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with AWI standards and commercial construction practices.
Degree or certification in Drafting, Architecture, or related field.
Experience drafting for CNC or production planning is a plus.
Experience processing point clouds
