Job Overview
The Automation Engineer is responsible designing, developing and implementing automated systems, tools and process to streamline and optimize various task and operations within the facility.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct thorough testing of automated systems
Ability to write code
Configure robotic systems
Create test automation frameworks and identify and resolved issues that arise during testing phase
Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas that can benefit from automation
Implement automation solutions to streamline operators and reduce manual intervention
Work closely with cross functional teams to integrate automation
Create comprehensive documentation for automated solutions, including design specifications, user manuals and troubleshooting guides
Monitor the performance of automated systems, perform regular maintenance and provide support to address any issues that may arise
Utilize data analytics to assess the effective of automated processes
Assist in training of other employees

Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager
The pay for this position is $77,800.00-113,200.00. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
Required Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
5 years of related experience and/or training or more.
Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
Rockwell PLC hardware and software (ControlLogix, CompactLogix RSLogix).
Ability to write PLC programs and make necessary changes.
Ability to lead/organize multiple projects and resources.
Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, trouble shoot and problem solve.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
3 years of food manufacturing experience or more
PLC programming, Wonderware MES, InTouch development, RSLogix
Working Conditions
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Lifting—occasionally up to 120 lbs
