Machine Operator (Dehacker)

Columbus Brick, a division of General Shale Brick, is seeking a Machine Operator (Dehacker) for our manufacturing facility in Columbus, MS. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Dehacker is a highly automated piece of machinery made up of several different components. It includes large automatic equipment composed of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components. The operator must be able to stay focused and alert to his/ her surroundings to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the machine.

Duties:

Operate and Maintain Strapping Equipment: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot single-head and multi-head strapping machines, including performing efficient changeouts and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Dehacker System Operation: Confidently operate Dehacker Operator Panels to manage product and size changeovers, unloading processes, and manual handling of hacks. This includes the ability to control grippers, switch unloading tracks, and safely clear car lines.

Robotic Equipment Operation: Utilize teach pendants to manage robotic unloading systems, identify and resolve standard operational issues, and ensure smooth automation processes.

Accurate Documentation: Complete all required documentation and recordkeeping tasks accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.

System Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of control and monitoring devices including photoelectric sensors, proximity switches, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic controls.

Troubleshooting Expertise: Apply structured problem-solving skills and follow troubleshooting guides to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job, including lifting, without restrictions.

This position offers a pay range of $15.69 - $19.55 and competitive benefits.
