Summary: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing an array of duties such
as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from
stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition
to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Manually or mechanically transport materials and items from receiving or production
areas to storage or other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to
predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and
distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or
conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Arranges stock parts in a specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
Uses a computer to enter records.
Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
Prepare to pull and ship orders for the company's clients working in a warehouse and
outside yard and receive incoming materials.
Prepares pallet for shipment by obtaining items from the appropriate area, annotates
each item, and prepares packing slip and stages for shipment.
Performs work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of two years
experience in a relevant industry preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid State Drivers License and forklift certification required.
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of
basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or
oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in
standardized situations.
Computer Skills: MS Office products experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described below represent the activities and surroundings of the positions. The work is typically performed in outside, warehouse, or customer locations, with a moderate to loud noise level. To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear on the telephone and in-person with individuals and groups. The incumbent is required to read and respond to documents in hard copy and electronic form and be able to distinguish colors. The incumbent will carry materials weighing up to 80 lbs., and must have the ability to bend, squat, climb, reach, and distinguish colors. Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods working on the phone, with computers and handwritten papers. The employee must be able to operate a company vehicle daily and follow all company and relevant rules and regulations.
