Job Summary
The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of stamping dies and injection molding processes to ensure the production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have experience with design and processing of tools in a cross-functional environment.
Location
Position is full-time, onsite in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and develop stamping and molding tools to ensure the highest quality of products are produced.
Work with the design engineering team to develop tools to stamp new contact designs and mold new products.
Work with cross functional team to ensure the smooth transition of stamped and molding tools from prototyping to production.
Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program for all the tools.
Develop tools database for all contacts and molds.
Design and develop assembly fixtures for manufacturing.
Troubleshoot and resolve stamping and molding process issues; set up parameters on the machines and maintain a database.
Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures for continuous improvement and reduce waste.
Train and mentor production personnel on stamping and molding processes.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Act as subject matter expert stamping and molding machines.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering required (or relevant experience acceptable).
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing stamping and/or molding processes (or relevant experience acceptable).
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) required.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to interact collaboratively and professionally with all company functions including Engineering, Quality, and Production.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
Proven ability to provide actionable feedback to help others improve and reach their goals.
