Location: Onsite, Las Vegas

SUMMARY:

The Community Relations Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events that connect the Desert Dogs with the local community of So. Nevada. and act in an administrative role to organize and plan all community events, school visits and Lacrosse camps & clinics. This role will focus on increasing fan engagement, promoting the sport of lacrosse, and building meaningful relationships with schools, lacrosse organizations, non-profits and local businesses. The ideal candidate is a creative, organized, and passionate about lacrosse with experience in event management and community outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule, Plan and execute community events, including activating free clinics, school visits, grassroots marketing activations and charitable initiatives.

Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align events with the Desert Dogs brand and business objectives.

Develop relationships with community partners, sponsors, and local organizations to enhance event offerings. Oversee, plan and execute existing community focused programs that include the CCCU Sticks for Success and Cure 4 the Kids Honorary Captain of the Game program.

Manage and train interns and staff that will participate in the community events that the Desert Dogs are activating at.

Oversee event logistics, including budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and on-site management.

Work directly with the marketing team to promote events through social media, email campaigns, and local outreach to drive attendance and participation.

Track and analyze event performance to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.

Represent the Desert Dogs as an ambassador at lacrosse, community events, fostering excitement and interest in the team and sport.

Act as the day-to-day liaison for all donation requests through the website. Track all donations and introduce all organizations to appropriate ticket reps to foster group and fundraiser tickets sales.

Work with corporate partnerships and Marketing to create Desert Dogs own fundraising events to include an annual golf tournament, Tucker Out Lymphoma Night, Jersey & team-signed merchandise Dash Auctions, and create new streams of fundraising for the Desert Dogs designated community partners.

Drive relationships with principles and coaches at High School and Middle Schools to help grow the game of lacrosse.

Plan and create the annual community calendar of events and research new events and areas for growth each season.

Forge relationships with adult leagues and youth leagues inside and outside of lacrosse. Research ways the Desert Dogs to work together with these groups to increase participation in Desert Dogs games.

Plan at least (2) staff community outreach days per year, where the staff comes together to give back to the community.

Attend networking events in the community as designated by the VP of Marketing. Act as an ambassador at these events on behalf of the Desert Dogs and the sport of lacrosse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or philanthropy. Sports Management, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in event planning, community engagement, or related roles.

Outgoing, pleasant personality, enjoys talking to fans, sponsors and new partners.

Passion for sports, with knowledge of lacrosse preferred.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.

Proficiency in event management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
