Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

A dynamic educational environment is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a K-12 setting in Virginia Beach, VA. This contract position runs from August 11, 2025, to June 1, 2026, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse student population, primarily focusing on older high school students.

Key Qualifications:

Graduation from high school supplemented by training in sign language interpretation.

Considerable experience as a sign language interpreter.

Eligibility to obtain a Virginia Quality Assurance Screening Level III or its equivalent upon hiring.

VQAS Level II certification holders have two years from the date of hire to attain Level III certification.

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services in one-on-one and classroom settings as needed.

Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the varying needs of students.

Participate in educational team meetings and contribute to the development of supportive learning strategies.

Complete any required documentation and maintain professional standards.
