We are seeking a proactive and analytical Project Controller to manage the financial oversight of Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Services, and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) projects. This role serves as a strategic partner to project and business unit leaders, with responsibility for end-to-end financial planning, reporting, risk management, and OPEX forecasting-ensuring optimal project and business performance in accordance with US GAAP.
Essential Duties
Financial Business Partnership
Act as the financial advisor to POC, ETO, and Services project teams and business units. Provide financial insight and guidance to support decision-making and ensure alignment with corporate financial goals.
POC Accounting & Revenue Recognition
Oversee revenue and cost recognition using percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting in full compliance with US GAAP. Validate project milestones and cost-to-complete estimates for accurate revenue timing.
ETO Project Financial Management
Manage ETO project financials from bid to completion, including cost modeling, margin validation, and impact analysis from engineering changes and customization.
Services Financial Oversight
Monitor financial performance of Services projects, including T&M, fixed-price, and recurring contracts. Track labor productivity, material usage, and post-delivery support impacts.
Forecasting & Planning
Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts for both project-specific metrics and overall OPEX at the business unit level. Update forecasts regularly to reflect changes in project scope, cost structures, and resourcing.
OPEX Analysis & Forecasting
Analyze operating expenses across POC business units, providing insights into spending patterns, cost drivers, and variance to budget. Partner with functional leaders to forecast OPEX, identify efficiency opportunities, and ensure alignment with profitability targets.
Project Risk & Opportunity Management
Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities across the project and business unit portfolio. Recommend strategies to mitigate financial exposure and enhance predictability.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
Deliver regular financial reporting for projects and business units, including variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and executive summaries. Provide actionable insights on cost, margin, backlog health, and forecast accuracy.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Support budgeting processes for projects and business units. Track and manage expenses against budgets, ensuring timely identification and resolution of deviations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Services, and Operations teams to align on financial targets and execution strategies.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure financial activities comply with company policies, SOX/internal controls, and US GAAP. Support internal and external audits with documentation and reporting.
Continuous Improvement
Lead initiatives to enhance project financial reporting, streamline cost tracking, and automate forecasting processes. Promote financial best practices across ETO, Services, and POC functions. Essential Requirements
5+ years of experience in FP&A or project controlling, with exposure to long-term and custom project environments.
Deep understanding of POC accounting, OPEX forecasting, and financial management of ETO and Services operations.
Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
