Position Overview:
The Enterprise Data Office (EDO) sits within Enterprise Operations and Technology division at Freddie Mac and provides strategic direction and guidance for effective data management and governance across all divisions within Freddie Mac. The EDO Governance team broadly supports the divisions on data governance and information risk management matters.
This position will perform data governance and information risk activities under the EDO Governance team’s senior manager, working closely with technology teams, other divisional and enterprise data governance teams, audit, compliance, and business partners to assess and identify governance gaps; coordinate events and issues; perform risk assessments and control testing; design and implement controls; propose process improvements; and report on data governance, risk, and compliance activities.

Your Impact:
As a Enterprise Data Governance Senior, you will assist the team in managing information risks to improve our risk management and data governance process and strengthen our control environment. This role provides opportunities to broaden your technical and risk acumen while being part of an inclusive team striving to deliver the following:
Support development and implementation of the overall data governance framework and strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Oversee the development and enforcement of data quality standards, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and reliable across all systems.
Enforce data governance policies, guidelines, and procedures to support data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders across the business to ensure data definitions, usage, and ownership are clear and consistent.
Monitor and ensure data governance practices comply with relevant data protection laws, industry standards, and internal governance policies.
Work closely with IT, data, business units, and legal teams to integrate governance practices into all stages of data management, from creation to retirement.
Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring data governance processes support both operational and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data architecture.
Strong background in data management practices, including data quality, data privacy, and metadata management.
Proven experience working with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
Preferred background in financial services.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $102,000 - $154,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
