We are a Brentwood-based back-office support company specializing in financial and administrative services for long-term care and assisted living facilities throughout the United States. Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting operations and oversee financial services for a growing portfolio of healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will bring a strong public accounting background and can manage a small internal team, interact directly with clients, and ensure financial accuracy across the board. The Controller will also support internal cash management and play a key role in client onboarding and ongoing financial reporting discussions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements for internal reporting and multiple clients.

Supervise, mentor, and review work from a team of staff accountants.

Lead treasury functions, including cash flow management and projections.

The ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding the details regarding their monthly financial statements and operational performance.

Assist with the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with clients.

Manage the external audit process, consult with auditors, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables for clients.

Review and act on invoices, collections, payables.

Manage cash flow and liquidity by monitoring cash balances and performing banking payment and deposit transactions.

Evaluate, implement, and maintain financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting processes.

Lead monthly financial meetings with each client to review financial statements and operational data.

Participate in Zoom discussions with prospective clients to explain accounting processes and service offerings.

Track inbound payments from clients and ensure proper application of funds.

Manage timely deposits of client payments into company bank accounts.

Monitor and reconcile company bank accounts and related cash flow reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting.

Prior leadership experience managing a team of accountants.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Experience in the healthcare, long-term care, or senior living industry is a plus.

Familiarity with borrowing base and lender reporting processes preferred.

Proficient with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication skills and client-facing professionalism.

Organized, initiative-taking, and meticulous.
