2nd Shift Slitter Operator
Job Description
This role is designed for candidates who aspire to advance into a slitter operator position. While training will be provided, familiarity with basic machine operation is highly advantageous. The role involves working collaboratively in teams of 3 to 4 members, assisting additional packers when necessary, and participating in various tasks such as loading and unloading machinery, conducting quality checks on steel, and shipping and receiving materials within the facility.
Responsibilities
Collaborate within a team of 3 to 4 members and assist additional packers as needed.
Load and unload machinery efficiently.
Perform quality checks on steel during and after processing to ensure operations are correct.
Utilize measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Handle shipping and receiving of materials within the facility.
Move materials around the facility safely.
Maintain a safe working environment.Essential Skills
Experience in manufacturing with presses, steel, and large machinery.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Proficiency in reading a tape measure to 1/16".
Capability to work effectively in teams of 3-4 people.
Experience with hand tools and power tools.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with overhead cranes.
Slitter operator experience.
Forklift operation skills.

Work Environment
The workplace is a clean and well-lit steel operation facility housing 40-50 personnel. Openings are available for the 2nd shift. Employees typically work 40 hours a week, with voluntary overtime. Protective equipment required includes hard hats, safety glasses, arm sleeves, hearing protection in certain areas, high-visibility vests, and steel-toe shoes. Uniforms are provided by the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Butler, Indiana.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
