The Operations Associate will work the “swing shift” to assist with aspects of both Warehouse and Transportation. In the Warehouse, the Operations Associate acts as the assistant manager, managing stock rotations and inventory cycle counting during the day, assisting with receiving, stocking and put-away, stepping-in as the lead receiver after the main receiving hours are done, and coordinating with the night shift supervisor to prepare for successful selection. In the Transportation Department, the Operations Associate will support driver questions throughout the day, assist with daily routing, check-in the drivers when they return including getting the items off the truck and determining if returns are satisfactory for re-stocking. The Operations Associate will have responsibilities for aspects of the Food Safety program. This role will cross-train to be ready to step-in as needed for any colleague during this shift who may not be absent.

Essential Duties & Requirements of the Job:

1. Transportation

a. Driver check-in: when drivers return, review all invoices together with each driver, ensure the driver has cleaned his/her truck and review each return to determine if it is appropriate to return to stock or not and annotate appropriately on the invoice paperwork. Make sure payments are kept together with invoices, document any delivery issues in Atlas systems and on the paperwork, make sure scan data is captured.

b. Driver Support: Field calls from drivers to assist them in their deliveries and address driver feedback

c. Routing: Assist the Director of Plant and Operations with the daily routing responsibilities for efficient routes and preparing the materials needed for night shift (i.e., print pick stickers and/or load selection scanner)

2. Warehouse

a. Inventory: Inventory cycle counts, quarantining damages, submission of inventory adjustments, stock rotation, use drop reports to fill pick slots for successful selection

b. Receiving: Managing receiving calendar, ensuring stickers are ready, directing incoming loads, inspecting incoming loads for quality control, unloading trucks, counting items against purchase order / Bill of Lading, filling out and signing off on receiver slips, labeling pallets with pallet labels, ensuring items are taken to the proper temperature zones.

c. Put-away: Taking received product and stocking into proper locations and filling out paperwork to ensure the integrity of the warehouse pick system.

d. Selection: As needed during the day, picking orders for customers

e. Food Safety: Maintain logs for temperature and sanitation; maintain clean and safe warehouse (fronting of stock, dusting product, cleaning warehouse as needed)

3. Problem solving, reporting solutions of daily issues to supervisor.

4. Other duties as assigned

Requirements to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:

1. Training of equipment on hi-lo’s and jacks.

2. Proper maintenance of jacks and hi-lo’s as assigned.

3. Examination of trucks and other equipment as assigned.

4. Must have a cell phone on at all times for business communication purposes only.

5. Overtime must be approved by the warehouse supervisor

6. Good communication skills.

7. Must clock out for lunch.

8. Neat and clean appearance

9. Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

1. High School/GED equivalent

2. 10+ years in an operations role working with food service

3. Excellent reading and math skills.

Physical, Mental and Psychological Requirements to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:

1. Sound physical, mental and psychological health.

2. Must be able to lift 100lbs of product when restocking product, and when picking orders

3. Respectfulness to supervisors, co-workers, and customers and vendor drivers.

Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:

1. Certain employees may be required to be a back up driver from time to time, in this case, the employee must have:

a. Department of Transportation Medical (DOT) Card must be valid at all times. Any tickets incurred for an invalid medical card will be the employee’s responsibility.

b. Valid Chauffeurs license.
