We’re seeking a Project Engineer who is technically strong, detail-focused, and ready to support Project Managers in delivering exceptional infrastructure for cities and counties across the state.
What You'll Do
As a Project Engineer, you’ll serve as the technical backbone of your project team. You’ll work alongside Project Managers to develop designs, guide junior staff, and contribute to every stage of the project lifecycle—from early concepts to construction closeout.
Key responsibilities include:
Technical design for public infrastructure projects (water, wastewater, roadways, drainage, parks, etc.)
Producing design plans, construction documents, and technical specifications
Assisting with studies, reports, permitting, and design development
Preparing cost estimates, responding to contractor RFIs, and reviewing pay applications
Participating in construction site visits and progress meetings
Coordinating tasks and workflow with internal teams and subconsultants
Supporting limited project management tasks on contracts under $100,000
Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior engineers and designers
Ensuring designs meet applicable codes, regulations, and standards

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months
4+ years of experience in civil engineering design and project execution
Strong working knowledge of design principles, codes, and permitting processes
Experience with public infrastructure projects for municipalities or counties
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision and take initiative on complex assignments
