RETS Associates, on behalf of our client - a private, vertically integrated commercial real estate investment firm - is seeking a talented Associate to join the firm's growing Data Center Development team. This position will be based at the firm's headquarters in Menlo Park, CA and will play a critical role in supporting the development of large-scale, ground-up data center projects across the U.S.
Main responsibilities include:
Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis for data center development projects nationwide
Support all phases of ground-up development including site acquisition, entitlement, design, permitting, construction, and delivery
Assist in preparing internal memos, project updates, and investor communications
Participate in budget preparation and track project timelines, cost estimates, and key milestones
Assist with securing entitlements such as zoning approvals and utility connections
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to advance building design and infrastructure specifications
Coordinate with construction teams on RFPs, GMPs, project tracking, and change order management
Partner closely with the Investments team to ensure alignment on underwriting and leasing assumptions
Candidates MUST have:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field
1-4 years of experience in real estate development, private equity, investment banking, or related fields
Strong financial modeling skills in Excel (data center experience is a plus)
Exceptional analytical and communication skills
A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset and strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Compensation: Base salary of approximately $110K+ DOE, plus bonus.
