At Brashear Family Medical, we strive to provide patient care that sets us apart from the rest. We are currently seeking an experienced Front Desk Receptionist to support our Family Practice. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication, superior customer service skills, and a friendly personality.

Compensation is hourly and dependent upon experience. We offer medical, dental and vision coverage, paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Please submit salary expectations or requirements with your resume.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or over the phone, and answering or referring inquiries.

Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and exam room utilization by efficiently scheduling appointments.

Keeps patient appointments on schedule by verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility before the appointment, reminding patients of their appointment the day before, registering and checking in patients promptly, preparing necessary

documents for the visit, notifying the provider of patients late arrival, and rescheduling late-arriving patients when necessary.

Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic health records system.

Maintains accurate financial records by updating patient financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, and providing patients with receipts for payments.

Encourages patient compliance with preventive care by reaching out to patients andreminding them when they are due for preventive exams and screenings.

Protects patients' privacy rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information under HIPAA regulations.

Understands and complies with OSHA and any other regulatory requirements.

Maintains operations by following BFM policies and procedures.

Assists in the orientation of new personnel as directed.

Quickly learns and effectively uses our electronic health records system, eClinicalWorks.

Performs all other duties as trained and requested by provider and/or management, to include maintaining a clean and presentable front office and reception area.

Experience

Experience with EMR systems; knowledge of eClinicalWorks is a plus

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
