Role: Video Scout
Primary Responsibility: Capture high-impact video clips of top-performing athletes in real time at events, working closely with scouts and the social team to ensure the best plays make it to social quickly.
Location: On-site at Prep Hoops Events (Nationwide)
Schedule: Event-based / Weekends
The Event Video Content Specialist is a new role focused on capturing high-energy, short-form video content at Prep Hoops events. Unlike traditional videographers, this position is built for social—shooting dynamic vertical clips that spotlight Top Performers, big plays, and high-momentum moments for use on social.
You’ll work alongside scouts, social, and graphics teams to help bring the tournament atmosphere and standout athletes to life.
Key Responsibilities
Capture 10–20 second vertical clips of standout players in real time
Shadow courts where Top Performers are emerging (based on scout input or game flow)
Film highlight moments: dunks, threes, crossovers, big blocks, crowd reactions, etc.
Use Google Sheets for tracking and Slack for communicating withthe social team
Organize and label clips by player name, jersey #, and team
Upload clips during or immediately after games to a shared folder
Collaborate with the Social Media and Graphics teams on real-time content needs
Assist with simple edits or trimming
What Success Looks Like
30+ clean, social-ready vertical clips per event day
Consistent delivery of footage from key games and top prospects
Effective communication with scouts and the social team to stay on the action
Clips being posted within hours, not days, of the action
What You’ll Need
Experience shooting video on a phone or DSLR/mirrorless camera
Strong eye for action and basketball IQ—knowing what to capture and when
Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and short-form trends
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy gym environments
Organizational skills to tag/sort clips quickly and clearly
Bonus: experience with CapCut, Canva Video, Adobe Rush, or Premiere

Smartphone with 4K camera (iPhone 12 or newer preferred)
Gimbal or stabilizer
Extra batteries / portable charger
Wi-Fi hotspot or mobile upload capability
