They inspect the finished parts, using measuring tools and templates, to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.

They must be able to read and understand technical blueprints, interpreting dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications.

They identify and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process, making necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, or machine settings.

They follow all safety regulations and procedures related to the operation of CNC machinery.
Programming and Setup:.Opens in new tab
CNC lathe machinists use computer software to create and input programs for the machine, including reference points and machining parameters. They also set up the machine, including selecting and aligning tools, fixtures, and materials.
Machine Operation:.Opens in new tab
They operate the CNC lathe, monitoring the process and making adjustments as needed to ensure the machine produces parts to specifications.
