About this role

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for our facility operations. This role requires expertise in automation, programming, and troubleshooting control systems to ensure seamless functionality and efficiency.

In addition to technical responsibilities, this position will involve project management duties, including planning and overseeing control system projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring project deliverables align with operational goals.

What you’ll do

Design, program, and maintain PLC, DCS, and SCADA control systems, ensuring seamless integration with facility operations while managing project timelines and resources.

Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize facility performance, overseeing project planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.

Troubleshoot and upgrade existing control systems to improve performance, managing project scope and budgets to align with operational goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies, facilitating team communication and project documentation for smooth implementation.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and regulatory reviews within project frameworks.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding project assignments, delegating responsibilities, and fostering professional growth.

Conduct system testing, validation, and documentation while maintaining project schedules and reporting on key milestones.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

5+ years of experience in building controls and automation

Expertise in Opto22, Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff, or other similar control platforms

Must be able to run a building controls project from start to finish

Experience working in mission critical facilities, such as data centers, is strongly proffered

Experience overseeing and mentoring junior controls engineers

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Must be able to communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients
