Position Summary:
In this key leadership role, the Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-efficiency production, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary excellence and brings a strong background in large-scale for catering, fine dining restaurants, or luxury hotel kitchens. Responsibilities
· Responsible for preparing large quantities of food for multiple events, ensuring that all quality, consistency, and presentation goals are met and exceeded. Manage and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a cohesive and skilled team.
· Overseeing kitchen operations that ensure efficient production and exceptional food quality in high-volume setting while working with high-end guest in various settings.
· Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitization standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
· Monitor inventory levels, control costs, and minimize waste while upholding the highest standards of ingredient management.
· Maintains a level demeanor while leading and mentoring cooks and event chefs onsite and at private /off-site events.
· Responsible for preparing large quantities of food for multiple events, overseeing with the Executive Chef all quality, consistency, and presentation goals are met and exceeded.
· Assists in planning the timing, preparation and follow through of production, scheduling and event consistency.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of two years of proven experience as a sous chef or executive sous chef in a high-volume, high-end catering, restaurant, or hotel environment
· Strong Culinary skills based on the principles and process of cooking but also demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adjust.
· Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes that demonstrate creativity and attention to detail
· Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to forecast needs and schedules with varying degrees of business velocity.
Conditions of Employment:
The Sous Chef position is full-time. Gourmet Caterers adheres to a policy of employment-at-will, which allows either party to terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice.Company Description
