Position Title: Service Transition Manager
Location: Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Maryland
Security Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Education/Experience: BA/BS with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6–10 years (additional experience may substitute for a degree)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Service Transition Manager to lead the integration and transition of IT services into operations for a high-profile federal program based at Joint Base Andrews. This role bridges project delivery and operational sustainment, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, documented thoroughly, and fully supported across all work centers.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with project managers to transition IT services into operational support
Analyze incoming services to ensure readiness across all supporting teams and work centers
Lead stakeholder meetings to drive alignment and execution of service transition plans
Advise program offices and service delivery teams on transition requirements and best practices
Collaborate with User Experience (UX) Managers to plan service announcements and end-user communications
Drive continuous process improvement in service delivery, execution, and fulfillment
Support quality management initiatives across all operational teams, including managed print services
Assist the Chief of Operations in identifying and resolving performance deficiencies
Work with Strategic Operations and Problem Management teams to address service delivery trends
Help design, develop, and maintain the AFNCR ITS Service Catalog and supporting documentation
Contribute to Quality of Service (QoS) initiatives and coordinate with higher-level Air Force IT stakeholders
Develop and update ITSM request templates in collaboration with Remedy/ServiceNow teams
Assist in developing and delivering customer-facing Service Catalog training
Support Service Fulfillment training for technical teams executing catalog requests
Participate in special projects to improve service quality and end-user experience
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years (additional experience may substitute for degree)
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in quality assurance or process improvement
Familiarity with BMC Remedy Digital Workplace Catalog and ServiceNow
Experience working in the National Capital Region or with Air Force HQ organizations
Experience with developing or maintaining a Service Catalog
Exposure to Remedy-ServiceNow migration projects
One or more of the following within 6 months of start:
Continuous Process Improvement certification or executive course
ITIL Foundations certification
PMP (Project Management Professional) certificationCompany Description
